Due to unforeseen circumstances, the CCA has elected not to host a Keys Conference in 2023. However, we have been in meetings for a definite return in 2024. As always, CCA thanks everyone for their continued support and confidence in our organization. We look forward to serving you in the spring of 2024.

California Corrections Association sponsors the Keys to Inmate Management Conference

The KEYS Conference is an annual gathering of Corrections personnel who recognize “Education is the Key” to professionalism in the field of Corrections. During the conference, managers, line personnel, civilian providers, program personnel, probation officers or other staff involved in the operation of detention facilities meet to learn from experts in the field, exchange information and broaden their knowledge in their field.

RosieIt is with great sadness and heartache that I must share the news of Rosemary Townsend’s passing. Rosie passed away quietly at her home in Kelseyville, California on December 2, 2022. As I write this, it still comes as a shock to us. Rosie was not just a colleague, but a friend to us all at the California Correctional Association. Some may remember Rosie to be stubborn and unwavering when she made up her mind. However, to those of us who knew her best, Rosie held on to the old school thought and beliefs that integrity and professionalism always came first. We have lost someone special who gave a part of herself to ensure that Correctional Officers and everyone in our correctional community were given a voice. It was her lifetime work and dedication at the CCA and the Keys Conferences that made a difference to all correctional agencies in California. When I remember Rosemary Townsend, I think of her laugh, smile and her ability to follow through and complete any mission. As we say goodbye to Rosie, she has been called upon to pass through one more gate, for one last mission.
